BiH Council of Ministers adopted six draft laws in the field of intellectual property
Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted six draft laws in the field of intellectual property, proposed by the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH.
At the 82nd session of the Council of Ministers, held on 16 June 2025, the following were adopted: the Draft Law on the Protection of Trade Secrets as an Intellectual Property Right, the Draft Law on the Protection of Topographies of Semiconductor Products, the Draft Law on Patents, the Draft Law on Trademarks, the Draft Law on Representation in the Field of Industrial Property Rights and the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Industrial Designs.
The draft laws are in line with the legislation and standards of the European Union. Their adoption improves the legal system for the protection of intellectual property in Bosnia and Herzegovina, enables accession to international organizations and facilitates the exercise and protection of intellectual property rights.
Council of Ministers also adopted the Work Report of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024.
